groups, and have information tables at their functions, and encourage them to have Poly information nightsMake ourselves available to panel discussions for college sexuality courses. Contact the instructors...they are usually quite excited to hear about something that doesn't involve them having to create a lecture or lesson plan!
Poly get togethers
Have various social events other than potlucks; for instance, the Twin cities poly group in Minnesota has PolyWogs at local coffeehouses twice a month; just perhaps 6-15 people take over a section of tables and have a good time chatting. Ice cream parlors are also good for this.
We could also have also have outings at the Renaissance Faire, camp outs, field trips to bookstores. Twice monthly discussion meetings at a local branch library...some could be just discussion, some we could invite speakers on poly topics.
Unitarian Universalist churches are usually open to having discussion meetings on poly.
Newcomer friendliness:
The web has dumped tons of info and lots of it thought provoking but not totally helpful. To top it off there are many sites that leave me with the feeling most would take offense as if its only a dirty little fantasy and not something really being contemplated.
Anyway I would like to see a way for a newcomer, someone with questions and maybe not even sure just what all the questions are, to get some answers or a point in the right direction.
This site has been more friendly than many. There are nice sites, I'm not saying that. Many just make you feel like a freshman that has walked into the seniors advanced cal class.
